ACCORD = A Creative Community Options Review Decision

The ACCORD is a group of individuals that works through the Stark County Family Council to manage the care and treatment of youth and families who have very intense, complex needs. It is made up of appointed representatives of public service organizations such as the Department of Job and Family Services, the Community Mental Health Board, the Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services Board, the Board of Mental Retardation/Developmental Disabilities, Family Court, and schools.

The purpose of the ACCORD is to:

  • Review funding requests for services identified in the WrapAround process;
  • Identify gaps in services;
  • Develop and implement training;
  • Monitor the WrapAround process and outcomes; and
  • Monitor the community's capacity to respond to child and family needs.

They are often able to cut through bureaucratic red tape within their own system or agency so that solutions for families can be identified and addressed as quickly as possible.

The ACCORD meets bi-monthly on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month in the Family Council office. The family gives permission for information to be shared at the ACCORD. All information is held in the strictest confidence, and not discussed outside the ACCORD process without the family's permission.

If you would like further information on the ACCORD, please contact Susan Hays, ext. 303, or Carol Lichtenwalter, ext. 304, at the Stark County Family Council at (330) 455-1225.
